Botanical Prints inspired by Australian flora.
From garden to print - crafted slowly and thoughtfully
About
Hi, I’m Jess. I live in the Scenic Rim, Queensland, where I spend my time growing, admiring, and learning from Australian native plants. Wagtail Botanical is my way of finding balance in a busy and demanding world — a reminder to slow down, step away from the desk, and create something with my hands.
Australian native plants are at the heart of my work. They belong to this landscape, supporting local insects, birds, and ecosystems, yet they’re often overlooked in favour of introduced species. Through printmaking, I aim to celebrate their quiet beauty and give them the attention they deserve.
Every print begins with a plant grown in my garden or foraged in or near the Scenic Rim. I work directly with each piece of flora, capturing its unique form and character through a hands-on monoprinting process. All pieces are printed in small batches, ensuring each one remains unique.
Sustainability is important to me. I print on recycled paper, use locally sourced plant material, and keep the entire process as local and low-impact as possible.
Wagtail Botanical is a small celebration of the landscapes I love — and an invitation to notice, value, and protect the plants that belong here.
